Payments
Payment may be made by check (made out to Town of Ault), or money order (made out to Town of Ault), whether mailed in or in person. Cash payments will be taken in person. Credit or debit card payments over the phone and in person. There will be a 3.5% transaction fee when paying with a credit or debit card.
If you have an Ault Municipal Court traffic ticket and the penalty assessment portion on the front of your ticket has been filled out, you may plead GUILTY and pay the ticket before your court date. Some tickets have “early settlement” offers. To take advantage of the early settlement (which may include a point reduction), you must pay the ticket within 20 days of the date you received the ticket. If you miss the early settlement option, you may still pay the ticket before the court date without the addition of the $30.00 Court Cost; however, the original points will be assessed against your driving record.
If the penalty assessment portion or early settlement is not filled out (for example, in most motor vehicle accident cases), payment before your court date is not an option because your appearance for arraignment is mandatory.
Municipal Court misdemeanor tickets are mandatory appearances. You must appear on the arraignment date listed on your ticket. To find out additional information, please call the Court Clerk’s Office.
Failure to appear in court may result in a contempt citation or a warrant being issued for your arrest. This may result in additional fines.
IF YOU ARE A JUVENILE, A PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN WILL NEED TO SIGN THE BACK OF THE SUMMONS AND THE SIGNATURE MUST BE NOTARIZED BEFORE PAYMENT IS ACCEPTED.
MAIL OR TAKE PAYMENT TOGETHER WITH THE SIGNED COPY OF THE SUMMONS TO: AULT MUNICIPAL COURT – 201 FIRST STREET/P.O. BOX 1098, AULT CO 80610.
