The Municipal Court is scheduling cases in-person.
Responsibilities
Ault Municipal Court is a limited jurisdiction court and acts as a check and balance on the legislative and executive branches of government. The Court has jurisdiction over:
- Traffic Violations
- Local Ordinances:
- Theft
- Damage to property
- Harassment
- Code violations
- Animal violations
The penalty for most criminal matters carry up to a $2,650.00 fine and up to 364 days in jail.
Court is in session usually every second Tuesday of the month. Please check the calendar for closures, rescheduling and active court dates.

Payments
Ault Municipal Court is a court of record.
Court Sessions
Municipal Court is held the second Tuesday of every month for arraignments, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
The defendant will need to sign in at the front north window. The defendant will be asked if they would accept a plea bargain / recommendation prepared by the Town Attorney, and also asked to read and sign a copy of the Advisement of Rights. If the defendant is a juvenile, a parent or legal guardian will need to be present, and will also be asked to sign the Waiver and Guilty Plea and the Advisement of Rights.
If you do wish to accept the Prosecution's recommendations, this may be done at 12:30 p.m. and you will not need to appear in court.
